Fall 2013 Information
TEAM FORMATION
All decisions regarding team formation, player placements, and coach assignments are made by the respective commissioners under the placement criteria of age, gender, school, and zip code (FWYSA Rule 6.d). All returning players from the immediately preceding season automatically remain on the same team. Requests for transfers should be noted in your online registration. Please email your commissioner with any requests relating to school/zip code placement criteria. You may find the list of commissioners on the About Us web page here.
TEAM PLACEMENT
Commissioners are solely responsible for all team placements in their division(s). Placement criteria are school and zip code. If you have a specific request under these criteria, you should note this in your online registration and email your Commissioner (links to their emails are on our About Us web page). Each Commissioner tries very hard to accomodate all appropriate requests for individual teams. In some cases, these requests cannot be made due to roster size or some other circumstance. The Commissioner will then try and place the player on a roster by school and zip code. PARENTS must be the one requesting the team--COACHES cannot request that certain kids be placed on their teams or that certain kids not be placed on their teams.
GAME SCHEDULES, UNIFORMS, AND PRACTICES
Games are scheduled for Saturdays until all are exhausted. If necessary (no more available Saturdays), we will use weekdays during DST and Sundays beginning at 1pm. The coach (typically a volunteer parent) of each team will choose uniforms, select a practice location, and determine dates, times, and number of practices per week. Often, the coach does consult with the other parents regarding practices, etc.
Players outside of FWYSA Territory will need to fill out a release form from their home association. FWYSA players wanting to transfer to another association will also need a completed release form.

REFUNDS
All refunds are partial. All refunds are issued via checks. We do not apply fees from one season to another season. FWYSA retains $25 essentially to cover automatic fees to Got Soccer, Authorize.net, and North Texas Soccer. FWYSA is responsible for these fees the moment a player is registered. While the rostering of a player may be cancelled, the fees cannot be cancelled. All requests for refunds must be submitted via email to the office (fwysa@fwyouthsoccer.org) . The deadline for requesting a refund is the Friday a week prior to the scheduling of the first games (even if you are not playing that first weekend).
Each player in FWYSA is held to the highest standard of sportsmanship. We demand each player to follow the Code of Ethics set forth by FWYSA. If any player, coach or parent breaks their respective Code of Ethics, they will be expected to attend a FWYSA A&D hearing. Player Code of Ethics
